Vodkaster Movie Quiz
Vodkaster movie quiz is a nice way to sharpen cinephilia and reflexes. I trained some hours in order to be fast enough when answering the 10 video questions. Finally I became one of the 42 best results of the latest 42 days. As you see, I managed to the 6th position  and wonder how fast I will get bounced by another member of the community.

Fake or not?
I listened to Sverddans last night as I had just pre-ordered Burzum’s latest double LP on Plastic Head. I like a lot what I heard but as everyone on Youtube, I wonder if this is a true track or just someone using “Belus” as a tag to get some clicks.

A Reality Tour
I saw David Bowie live twice. The first time was at Paris Rock festival in summer 1997 and the second time at POP Bercy in October 2003 for the Reality Tour. Since Bowie hasn’t either released any new album since this la(te)st tour or toured, I was expecting this live CD in order to recollect memories. It makes me feel a bit nostalgic.

Les Insomniaques
Last summer I won a tiny share in a Turkish movie. As the project didn’t go that well, I got a 10€ voucher to invest in another film production. I chose to help, as far as possible, Jean-Pierre Mocky’s latest comedy: Les Insomniaques. Why? Because he is provocative, funny and indie!

The Fifth Child, Doris Lessing
The Fifth Child was charming, or at least the first 3/4 of it. The birth of a violent gobblin in a perfect family and how their efforts to calm him down are doomed to fail interested me a lot. The book started à la Joyce Carol Oates, then turned to a Neil Gaiman’s spooky story before it “ended” with no real end à la Oates again. I who was expecting something feminist, marxist or...

Flowers from Exile, Rome
This band is not from Italy but from… Luxembourg! I had already heard som tracks when the band was under the Swedish label Cold Meat Industry but realize only today how good their music is. The voice is warm, the music is soft and perfect to chill out.

From Afar, Ensiferum
Another Finnish band I discover thanks to Spotify. Expecting something epic and neofolk, I got disapointed by the singer’s death metal voice. Next!

Eluveitie
Hurdy gurdy rules! As a true Berrichonne, I like traditionnal music. Even if I am not a regular visitor of the folk music festival that takes took place in St-Chartier, I appreciate a lot old and odd instruments. The voices of Eluveitie aren’t my type but the groovy music is very enjoyable!

Korpiklaani
Korpiklaani is a famous Finnish band which was linked from Týr’s page on Spotify. Their music is interesting and it made me want to hear more neofolk and folk metal this year!

Týr
Last week I signed under a petition for the creation of a film fund on Faroe Islands, and realized that I had only seen a single film produced in this archipelago: Bye Bye Blue Bird, directed by Katrin Ottarsdóttir… As I know too little about Faroe Islands’ culture I decided to listen to 2 albums by the viking metal band Týr, Land & By The Light Of The Northern Star… Gosh, it...

2009: a year of change
The first decade of the 2000’s is now over. The year will have been very hectical for me. It started with almost no job and no pay. Very quickly I saw an ad for the job I was educated for: I would finally become Stockholm’s Cinematheque’s program manager! As I am still the only specialist about Cinemateket, I was convinced the position as a their new program manager would become...
